Established in 1952, we are one of the largest independent, family-owned seed businesses in the UK. Today our team offers a wealth of knowledge and experience in the seed industry.
Peter joined the business in 1984 less than a year after leaving Brackenhurst Agricultural College where he studied Agricultural Merchanting for three years.
As Chairman, Peter works closely with Managing Director Matthew Dalton in the areas of strategic planning and new business acquisition.
Peter is also a cereals and pulses crop inspector.
Peter held the position of Managing Director from 2012 to 2024.
Matthew joined the business in 2010. He holds a BA (Hons) degree in Economics and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
Since joining the company, Matthew has successfully completed the BASIS Foundation Award in Agronomy, the BASIS Seed Sellers qualification and has become a qualified crop inspector in cereals, pulses and oilseeds.
He previously held management responsibility for transport, finance, regulatory compliance, IT and marketing.
As Managing Director, Matthew is responsible for all operational matters within the business and works closely with Chairman Peter Fox around strategic planning and new business acquisition.
David joined the business in January 2020. He holds a BSC (Hons) degree in Business Management (International Food & Agribusiness) from the Royal Agricultural College.
Before joining Daltons, David joined Wynnstay in 2013 after leaving the RAC, where he was a grain trader. He was promoted to Seed Sales Manager of Woodheads Seeds (part of Wynnstay) in 2018.

Monika has a BA (Hons) in International Tourism Management and has extensive experience in recruitment, HR, customer services and marketing.
Day-to-day, Monika works with David on our seed sales desk.
She is responsible for communicating with our retail and wholesale customer base, as well as looking after the company’s social media profiles.

Maddie has always had an interest in the countryside and joined Dalton Seeds in January 2025, bringing with her a BA (Hons) in Media Production, along with a strong background in social media and communications.
Working closely with David, Maddie plays a key role as a Seed Sales Specialist, supporting customers with advice and suitable on-farm solutions.
In addition to her in-depth knowledge of cereals, pulses, and smaller seeds, Maddie is currently leading the development of our maize portfolio.

After graduation from Bangor University with a degree in World Agriculture, Ben started his career as a field assistant for a leading UK plant breeder. He subsequently moved into field trials and agronomy managing various variety and agrochemical trials across a broad range of agricultural crops.
Ben joined Dalton Seeds in early 2011 to assist the seed sales manager but more recently has taken over from Peter in managing production and seed contracts.
Ben is BASIS, FACTS and BETA trained and is also a licensed cereals and licensed official pulses crop inspector.

Rebecca joined the company in January of 2023
She has previously worked in Transport and Production Roles.
Rebecca has several years of experience, from transport and courier services to production planning and stock control.
She now works alongside the Production and Warehouse Managers, being responsible for bulk haulage intake and seed treat & pack planning.

Phil has more than 25 years of experience in the agricultural industry working at Daltons.
He is experienced in all our warehouse departments – cleaning, treatment and despatch.
Day to day, Phil is responsible for all sections of our production and despatch process, but also co-ordinates out of season maintenance and machinery improvements.
Phil also works with Matthew on health and safety in our warehousing and is a qualified crop inspector in cereals and pulses.

Joe joined the business in 2021, spending his initial months working on a packing line in our production facility, providing valuable insight into how the business functions from the warehouse & beyond.
Prior to joining Daltons, Joe spent several years managing subcontracts for large parcel carriers, managing a large number of courier drivers & several depot locations across the eastern region.
Since joining the business, Joe has become a qualified crop inspector in cereals & pulses.
On a day-to-day basis, Joe has management responsibility for our outgoing transport operation, commercial operations linked to our storage facilities and the import & export of seed.

Craig joined the company in 2008 having previously worked for TNT for 11 years. During his time with TNT he was three times awarded the award of ‘Operator of the Year’. Prior to working with TNT, Craig was employed by a large retail company holding various management roles.
Craig has extensive experience in all areas of transport from haulage and courier deliveries to logistics planning, storage stock control and international shipping requirements.

Lisa joined the company in 2012 as a Receptionist/Transport Assistant. Previous employments have been in administration since leaving college.
In 2023 Lisa became Transport Co-ordinator dealing with all the courier dispatches and helping Craig plan general transport during the busy seasons.

Michael joined Dalton Seeds as Stock Controller in January 2024. Michael oversees stock across our multiple warehouses, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Day to day Michael works closely with colleagues in our warehouse ensuring accuracy in stock management and utilising industry leading warehouse management systems.
Michael has several years’ experience in stock control and inventory management. Prior to joining Dalton Seeds, he was Stock Controller at Gousto and has had several stock control roles across food manufacturing & logistics.

Lizzie joined the business in September 2025 and holds a BSc (Hons) in Agri-food marketing with business studies from Harper Adams University.
Before joining Dalton Seeds, Lizzie worked for ADM Agriculture from 2021, where she trained as a seed analyst and gained her laboratory management qualification.
Lizzie also holds the Basis Foundation Award in Agronomy.
Day-to-day Lizzie now looks after our busy customer service department. She maintains constant oversight of the delivery process from beginning to end, ensuring every customer receives a reliable & first-class experience.

Helen joined the business in early 2019, having moved to south Lincolnshire from the Scottish Borders.
As Analyst in Charge, Helen is responsible managing all elements of our licensed seed laboratory.
Prior to joining Daltons, Helen spent seven years working for a company specialising in genetics, being responsible for production and quality control, and managing a team of 14 staff.
Isabel joined our laboratory team permanently in June 2025 after working as a temp in the transport team for two seasons in 2024.
She graduated with an MSc by Research in Bioveterinary Science from the University of Lincoln in April 2025 and is currently training to be a qualified seed analyst.
Nicky joined the company in February 2021 having previously worked in various accounting roles.
As Accounts Manager Nicky is responsible for the day to day running of our accounts department.
Nicky has over 25 years’ experience of working within an accounts’ environment in both the private sector and accountancy practice. She also ran her own business with her husband for over 20 years.
